Filtrete Air and Water Filters by Size, MERV and MPR

This page collects 3M Filtrete furnace and AC air filters, a room air purifier filter, and Filtrete whole-house and under-sink water filters. Air filters are sold in multi-packs and listed by nominal size, MERV rating and 3M's MPR (Micro Particle Performance Rating). Read the size printed on the edge of your current filter, including the thickness, and match all three numbers.

Other air filter listings include the MPR 300 MERV 5 6-pack, the 1500 Purple Furnace filter, the basic pleated furnace pad, a 4-inch deep-pleat filter and an MPR 1900 4-pack.

Choosing MERV and MPR

MERV and MPR both rate how well a filter captures particles, and higher numbers capture smaller particles. Higher ratings also add airflow resistance, so check your furnace or air handler manual for the highest rating it supports before moving up.

Filtrete Whole-House and Under-Sink Water Filters

Water filter listings here include the 4WH-HDGR-F01 large capacity whole-house filter, the 4WH-STDGR-F02 basic whole-house 2-pack, the 3WH-STDCW-F02 whole-house carbon wrap 2-pack, a 3WH-STDPL-F02 30 micron pleated whole-house filter and the 3US-MAX-F01 under-sink quick-change filter. Match the model code printed on your current filter or system. This collection also includes one APEC reverse osmosis filter set (FILTER-SET-ESX2).

How Often to Replace

Some Filtrete air filter listings mention a three-month change, and the right interval depends on your system, pets, dust and run time. Check the filter regularly and follow your equipment manufacturer's and the filter maker's guidance.

Filtrete Filter Questions

How do I find my air filter size?

Look at the edge of your current filter for the printed nominal size, such as 20x25x1. The thickness is the third number, and it must match.

What is the difference between MERV and MPR?

Both are ratings of particle capture. MERV is an industry scale, and MPR is 3M's own rating used on Filtrete products. Higher numbers capture smaller particles.

Are these filters made by 3M?

Several listings are labeled Genuine 3M Filtrete in the product title. Check the title and description on the product page.
